Transportation
The vantage location of Syros in the heart of the Cyclades and the short distance from Athens enables all travellers to go to the island in whatever way serves them best, either by air or by boat.
Syros is the ideal destination for long vacations, short breaks or island hopping plus it is connected to Athens with daily ferries and with other Islands on a regular basis.
The cruise is also an option for a short visit, as more and more cruise ships anchor at the port of Syros.
Yachting enthusiasts can sail to the island of Syros and anchor their yachts in the port of Ermoupolis or one of the marinas and smaller ports of the island.

Within Syros transportation can be made with private cars, local buses, taxis and boats.
Private Vehicle/Car
In case anyone wants to choose a private car for transport to the island, one car hire from local car rental companies or through a travel agency.

The local bus service covers most of the island especially during the summer months. The local bus service connectw Ermoupoli with Galissas, Finikas, Posidonia, Megas Gialos, Vari, Azolimnos, Kini, Anno Mana, Chroussa, Parakopi and Vissa while municipal buses are also available, free of charge.
